UsefullNov 13, 2009 They can be used either upside up as shown on the picture or upside down and turned sideways : they'll fit perfectly into the carved-in part of the straight tracks ! Of course useless if you do not already own the upward/downward tracks.
As always, these articles are well thought about and resistant.
Great for building bridges!Feb 09, 2009 These risers are much easier to use. They lock in place good with the ascending track you have to buy. Also the train goes over the track smoothly when you use them together.

Great fun for preschoolersFeb 01, 2008 My son is 5, and still very much into Thomas. He loves building his own layouts with the wooden tracks, and having these risers adds to his fun by allowing him to create elevated track and having some go under the elevated track. You do have to carefully set it up, but then even his 2 year old sister can run the trains all around and not knock it over unless she bumps it pretty well. I highly recommend having elevated track and risers for preschool and above train fans.

Must be used with glue, screws, or nailsDec 28, 2007 I use these to make elevated track but I drill the track with countersinking bit and use a wood screw to secure the track to the risers. If you plan on making elevated tracks without using glue or screws or nails your child will destroy the elevated track setup in minutes.
